A huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our second annual NYC fundraiser! We have a few people to thank publicly and hope that you’ll join us in patronizing them for their generosity, donations, and support of our school, students and foundation overall.

Daniel Altamirano, Jr. and the family of Altamirano’s recently opened their namesake restaurant after decades of hospitality and service on the Upper East Side in May 2025. Daniel graciously worked with our founder, Felicia Walker and long-time friend of the family, Director of Marketing, Susan Westcott Kim to plan and host this year’s cocktail party. If you’re looking for the warmest welcome, great food or to celebrate a milestone check out their restaurant at East 78th Street and York Avenue.

For the second year in a row, Dale Saferstein and the team behind Himbrimi Icelandic Gin showered our guests with two featured cocktails showcasing the smooth taste in a classic Negroni and a Gimlet infused with cucumber and mint.

Over 80 guests and standing room only! Thank you again to everyone who came out in unseasonably warm March heat (!) and listened, nibbled, mingled, drank and celebrated a school, students and staff halfway around the world!

• Total event cost: $3,400 (all costs donated back by Board).
• New (first-time) donors: 28 people.
• Dollars from new donors only: $35,275 (69% of month’s intake).
